The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced a return to tradition with the iconic red carpet for this year’s Oscars ceremony.

However, the decision was met with skepticism as the 50,000-square-foot rug proved challenging to keep clean.
The colorful carpet trend has been sweeping premieres, galas, and award ceremonies in recent years, with events like the Emmys featuring a gray carpet and the world premiere of “Barbie” in pink.
