The founder of Terraform Labs, Do Kwon, is set to be extradited to South Korea to face criminal charges after the Montenegro appeals court dismissed his appeal. This decision solidifies his legal obligation to face charges in South Korea, despite the US also pursuing his extradition for separate charges.

Kwon, who faces eight charges in the US including fraud and market manipulation linked to the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, had previously overturned decisions favoring his extradition to the US. However, the appeals court ruled that South Korea’s extradition request had precedence due to its earlier submission and legal compliance.

Goran Rodic, Kwon’s legal representative, stated that this decision is definitive and closes the door on any further appeals by Kwon or the US. While a specific extradition timeline has not been established, the process is moving forward.

Kwon’s legal saga began when he was arrested in Montenegro for possessing fake travel documents. Now, his path leads to South Korea, marking a decisive turn in the international legal battle surrounding the Terraform Labs founder.
