Conor McGregor Announces Return to UFC Octagon After Acting Debut in “Road House”

After making his long-anticipated acting debut in a remake of “Road House,” Conor McGregor has announced that he is ready to return to the UFC octagon this summer. The Irish fighter, who hasn’t competed since 2021 when he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier, shared the news on Wednesday.

In an interview with ESPN, McGregor revealed that he received confirmation a few days ago that he will be facing off against Michael Chandler in his upcoming fight. Despite not having an official booking yet, McGregor expressed his excitement for his return to the octagon.

During an appearance on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani, McGregor reiterated his readiness to make a comeback. He credited his faith for guiding him through his journey back to the UFC, stating, “God shines down on me. There’s angels protecting me.”

In addition to his UFC comeback, McGregor also shared details about his experience filming “Road House” alongside actor Jake Gyllenhaal. The film, which was released recently, features McGregor and Gyllenhaal in a scene filmed during weigh-ins at UFC 285 in Las Vegas.

Despite facing some setbacks in his recent fights, McGregor remains determined to make a strong comeback in the UFC. With a record of 1-3 in his last four fights, including losses to Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov, McGregor is eager to prove himself once again in the octagon.
