The Stratum Reference Implementation (SRI) team has reached a significant milestone with the unveiling of SRI 1.0.0, a new release aimed at decentralizing and optimizing bitcoin mining. This latest version offers miners a host of new features and improvements, making it easier than ever to connect to SV2 pools and ensure uninterrupted mining activities.

One of the key highlights of SRI 1.0.0 is the ability for miners to connect to SV2 pools without the need to upgrade existing SV1 firmware. This can be done either through a Translation Proxy or by using an SV2 firmware device like BraiinsOS. Additionally, miners now have the flexibility to run their bitcoin nodes, construct templates, and declare them to the SV2 Pool, giving them more control over their mining operations.

The implementation of pool fallback functionality is another important feature of this release, ensuring that mining activities continue even if a pool decides to censor transactions. This incentivizes pools to prioritize miners’ interests and ensures that miners’ hash power remains secure and competitive.

The SRI team has worked closely with the working group to enhance the Stratum V2 specification and conduct rigorous testing to ensure seamless compatibility between implementations of the protocol. This release allows miners using SV1 or SV2 firmware to connect directly to an SV2 Pool or through a translation proxy, expanding operational capabilities.

With its user-friendly pool setup and upcoming enhancements, SRI is poised to become a popular choice for miners and pools looking for a streamlined mining experience. The project is open to contributions and support from individuals and corporate entities interested in advancing the development, research, and innovation in bitcoin mining technology.
