94-Year-Old Adventurer Sets Out to Conquer All Seven Continents

A 94-year-old adventurer, who made headlines last year for being the oldest person to visit all 63 U.S. National Parks, has embarked on her newest quest to conquer all seven continents. Joy Ryan of Duncan Falls, Ohio, recently returned from Chile and the Galápagos Islands, marking her latest achievement in her remarkable journey.

“When you get to a certain age, everybody starts saying, ‘Oh, you can’t do that. You’re too old to do that kind of thing,'” Joy Ryan told Fox News Digital in an interview. “Just tell them to jump in the river and be positive. Give it a try. If you don’t try, the next day you’ll regret it.”

At the age of 85, Ryan decided to step out of her comfort zone and explore the world. Having spent most of her life in Duncan Falls, working various jobs and enjoying time with her grandchildren, Ryan’s adventurous spirit was reignited when her grandson, Brad Ryan, proposed the idea of traveling to all seven continents together.

Their journey began with a camping trip to the Smokies, where Ryan climbed her first mountain at the age of 85. Since then, they have visited numerous national parks, faced challenges like class III rapids, and embarked on a safari.

With four continents already checked off their list, the duo is determined to complete their goal by visiting Asia, Australia, Antarctica, and Europe. Despite her age, Ryan’s physical and mental strength have grown stronger through her travels, inspiring others to pursue their dreams at any age.

Ryan’s travel advice is simple yet powerful: “Roll down a sand dune. Always think positive. And if somebody asks you to go somewhere, don’t ever say no. You’ll regret it the rest of your life.”

The remarkable journey of Joy Ryan and her grandson serves as a reminder that age is just a number, and there are endless adventures waiting to be explored.
