The Buffalo Bills shocked the NFL offseason by trading All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans for draft compensation. While Bills fans may be disappointed to see Diggs in another uniform, rumors of tension in the locker room, particularly with quarterback Josh Allen, have been circulating.
According to The Athletic’s Tim Graham, there was a reported incident between Diggs and Allen after the Bills’ Week 1 overtime loss to the New York Jets. Allen, who threw three interceptions in the game, was sitting in his locker with teammates trying to console him when Diggs approached him. Allen reportedly snapped at Diggs, saying, “It’s one f—ing game,” before motioning for him to move along.
Despite the reported altercation, Diggs started the season strong with over 800 yards on 70 receptions and seven touchdowns in his first nine games. However, his production declined in the remaining eight games, catching just 37 balls for 349 yards and one touchdown.
The Bills ended the season with a 7-3 record, including a wild-card round win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. When the season ended, Diggs hinted at uncertainty about his future with the team, and those concerns were realized when GM Brandon Beane traded him to the Texans for a 2025 second-round pick.
The trade was described as making sense for both teams, with Beane stating, “The last couple days, the value seemed to make sense and the timing made sense for them and for us. And we worked on the deal and got it finalized today.”
The trade marks the end of an era for the Bills and leaves fans wondering about the future of the team without Diggs. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
