The 2024 Tribeca Festival is set to be a star-studded event, featuring world premieres of highly anticipated films and documentaries that will surely captivate audiences. Organizers announced the lineup on Wednesday, revealing a diverse array of offerings that showcase the talent and creativity of filmmakers from around the world.
One of the most anticipated premieres is the documentary “Brats,” which will reunite members of the iconic Brat Pack from the 1980s and ’90s. Andrew McCarthy will lead the cast as they reflect on their time in Hollywood and the lasting impact of their work. The festival will also feature a documentary on the late electronic music producer Avicii, as well as films starring Lily Gladstone, Jenna Ortega, and a comedy featuring Michael Cera, Maya Erskine, and Kristen Stewart.
With 103 features from 114 filmmakers in 48 countries, the festival promises to offer a diverse and engaging selection of films. This year’s lineup includes 86 world premieres and 30 movies directed by first-time filmmakers, showcasing the next generation of talent in the industry.
“We feel really lucky that there was such enthusiasm, particularly with all of the challenges that the industry had this year,” said Cara Cusumano, the festival’s director. “It made me feel really optimistic about the future of independent film and about the resiliency of the creative community.”
In addition to the film screenings, the festival will also feature musical performances from artists like Linda Perry, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Sister Nancy, as well as stand-up comedy performances from stars like Lily Tomlin, Wanda Sykes, and Rosie O’Donnell.
