Sensex and Nifty Surge: Sensex Gains 350 Points, Nifty Reaches 22,280; Broader Markets, PSB, O&G Stocks Rise; Health and FMCG Stocks Face Pressure

Sensex Today Live: Capacite Infraprojects has secured orders worth ₹549 crore from Macrotech Developers and Raymond, the company announced today. The order from Macrotech Developers is for a luxury residential project in Worli, Mumbai, with a total contract value of ₹256 crore, while the project from Raymond Limited includes construction of an additional building in Thane and scope enhancement of an existing building, totaling ₹293 crore.

Meanwhile, in the stock market, the Auto index has gained the most, followed by the Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas indices. All sectoral indices, except Healthcare, are in the green. The broader market is outperforming, with the BSE SmallCap index up 1.24% and the BSE MidCap index up 0.91%.

On the Nifty, 14 of the 50 stocks are in the red, with Nestle India, Apollo Hospital Enterprises, Axis Bank, HCLTech, and Titan being the top drags. Bharti Airtel, Power Grid Corp., Mahindra & Mahindra, BPCL, and Tata Steel are the top gainers. On the Sensex, nine of the 30 stocks are in the red, with losses led by Nestle India, Axis Bank, HCLTech, ITC, and Titan. Bharti Airtel, Power Grid Corp., Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, and Larsen & Toubro are the top gainers.

At 12 pm, the Sensex was up 451.58 points, or 0.62%, at 72,961.66, while the Nifty was up 158.50 points, or 0.72%, at 22,306.40. The market is tracking Asian peers higher as sentiment firms up there.

In other news, Bharti Airtel shares are up more than 4% after the company signed a definitive agreement with Dialog and Axiata Group to merge operations in Sri Lanka. Jio Financial Services shares also rose more than 5% after announcing a joint venture with BlackRock to launch wealth management and brokerage services in India.
