Plato Integrates with NEAR Blockchain to Bring Advanced User-Owned AI Capabilities to Its Crypto Restaurant App

Plato, the popular Eat2Earn platform, has announced its integration with the NEAR Blockchain to introduce cutting-edge user-owned AI capabilities to its native crypto restaurant App. This groundbreaking move aims to revolutionize the dining experience for users worldwide by offering personalized recommendations and streamlining the reservation process.

The integration of user-owned AI within Plato’s platform empowers users with full control over their data and interactions, aligning with the core principles of decentralization and user sovereignty. This initiative emphasizes privacy and security, ensuring that users can enjoy a seamless and secure dining experience.

Plato Eats dApp users play a crucial role in contributing to a comprehensive dataset focused on food, supported by purchase verification and participation from individuals in over 90 countries. By incentivizing users through on-chain reputations and rewards, Plato encourages them to post reviews post-dining, further enhancing the platform’s offerings.

Robert Kao, co-founder of Plato, expressed his excitement about the collaboration with NEAR, stating, “By integrating with NEAR, Plato is taking its first step in aligning with NEAR’s vision of a web3-enabled AI ecosystem.” He highlighted the potential for further monetization within the NEAR ecosystem, as users earn reputations and rewards for creating verified user-generated content.

The NEAR Foundation is actively developing the underlying AI infrastructure to support features such as data collection, crowdsourcing, and the creation of an agentic infrastructure for novel monetization methods. Jarrod Barnes, Head of Founder Success at NEAR Foundation, emphasized the transformative capabilities of NEAR’s infrastructure in real-world applications, enhancing the dining experience for users globally.

Plato Eats dApp has already made a significant impact, supporting over 15 million restaurants worldwide with check-ins at over 10,000 restaurants across 94 countries. With a diverse range of cuisine types and a rapidly growing user base, the platform continues to see impressive month-over-month user growth and engagement.

The integration with NEAR also paves the way for broader multi-chain integration within the Plato app, allowing users to swap USDC across multiple chains and access approved Web3 tokens for in-app purchases. This includes tokens like NEAR and SWEAT, offering users more flexibility and options for their dining experiences.

Overall, the collaboration between Plato and NEAR signifies a significant step towards enhancing the dining experience through advanced AI capabilities and blockchain technology. Users can look forward to a more personalized and streamlined experience, setting a new standard for the future of dining.
