The United States Agency for Global Media (USAGM) is under investigation for a social media account allegedly associated with a high-powered executive that made derogatory comments about White people. The account, belonging to USAGM Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Director of IT Operations James “J.R.” Reeves, referred to White people as “snow roaches” and made other offensive remarks.
Conservative X account End Wokeness uncovered the account and shared screenshots of the posts, which included comments like “Cry about it, snow roaches” and “Keep the Immigrants, Deport the Racists.” The USAGM, which includes entities like Voice of America, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and Radio Free Asia, is looking into the matter.
The account associated with Reeves, @devast8nSigma, has since been locked after the offensive messages were brought to light. Reeves, who is responsible for overseeing IT operations at USAGM, has not responded to requests for comment. The agency stated that they do not condone intolerance in any form and are investigating the veracity of the tweets.
This controversy raises questions about the conduct of high-ranking officials within taxpayer-funded organizations and the importance of upholding values of respect and inclusivity. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
