US President Joe Biden delivered a powerful speech to Nato leaders in Washington DC, emphasizing the strength of the military alliance in the face of global challenges. The president reassured allies of America’s commitment to defending democracy and supporting Ukraine in its conflict with Russia.

During the summit, President Biden announced increased military aid for Ukraine, including Patriot missiles and other tactical air defense systems from Nato allies. He also welcomed Sweden and Norway to the alliance, highlighting the unity and solidarity of the member countries.

The event, held at the historic venue where the original Nato treaty was signed, was a symbolic moment for the alliance as it celebrated its 75th anniversary. Leaders from 32 member countries, including UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, gathered to discuss further support for Ukraine and send a clear message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Nato Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg praised the alliance’s commitment to preserving peace and safeguarding freedom, calling the current conflict in Ukraine the “biggest security crisis in generations.” President Biden honored Stoltenberg with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, recognizing his leadership and dedication to the alliance.
