An Evangelical Christian group is making waves in the 2024 election by throwing their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris. “Evangelicals for Harris” is aiming to sway voters of faith to see Harris as the candidate who aligns more closely with their values.

Rev. Lee Scott, a Pennsylvania farmer and pastor, is leading the charge for Evangelicals for Harris. He believes that President Trump has taken advantage of Christian voters for his own gain, and it’s time for a change. Despite traditionally supporting Republican candidates, the group is confident they can appeal to evangelical voters who have been put off by Trump’s rhetoric.

With over 200,000 evangelicals already pledging their support for Harris, the group is gaining momentum. Scott acknowledges that he doesn’t agree with the Democratic platform on every issue, particularly abortion, but he believes Christians should consider a candidate’s overall policies and character when casting their vote.

Evangelicals for Harris has faced criticism from conservative Christians, including Rev. Franklin Graham, who questioned the group’s use of his father’s image in an attack ad against Trump. Despite the backlash, the group is pressing forward with a million-dollar ad campaign targeting religious voters in swing states.

As the 2024 election heats up, Evangelicals for Harris is determined to make a difference and challenge the traditional support of evangelical voters for Republican candidates. With a focus on values and policies, the group hopes to sway voters of faith to consider a different path in this election.
