Winners of Celebrity Race Across the World Show Describe Experience as ‘Draining’

The winners of the latest series of Celebrity Race Across the World have been revealed, with BBC Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband Sam emerging victorious. The couple reached the final checkpoint at Osorno Volcano in Frutillar, Chile, ahead of the other contestants.

The episode was watched by an average audience of 3.7 million, showcasing the popularity of the show. Actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen Moriarty finished in second place, followed by TV presenter Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, and model Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi in third and fourth place respectively.

Scott and Sam described the experience as “exhilarating, inspiring, and exhausting”, highlighting the challenges they faced during the 12,500km journey from the Amazon to the Andes. Despite starting the final leg in third place, the couple made strategic decisions that ultimately led them to victory.

Reflecting on the journey, Mills shared that the experience had changed the way he now travels, emphasizing the importance of disconnecting from technology and embracing new adventures. The couple also expressed how the race had strengthened their relationship, with Mills realizing that Sam was truly “the one”.

Overall, the Celebrity Race Across the World winners expressed gratitude for the opportunity to explore new cultures and landscapes, with Mills singling out Uruguay and Chile as his favorite locations from the race. The show has not only inspired viewers to embark on their own road trips but has also opened up the world of travel to a wider audience.
