The recent escalation of violence in Lebanon has left tens of thousands of people displaced and living in fear. Among them is Khaled Hussein, a 20-year-old who fled Syria as a child, only to face more turmoil in Lebanon.

Khaled captured a harrowing video from his home near the city of Nabatiyeh, showing an Israeli airstrike hitting dangerously close. The continuous bombings forced Khaled and his family to make the difficult decision to escape. They are now among 800 people seeking shelter at a U.N. facility south of Beirut, seeking safety from the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.

The situation in Lebanon is dire, with over 700 people killed and more than 90,000 forced to leave their homes due to Israeli airstrikes. Many of those seeking refuge are Syrian and Palestinian refugees who have already experienced the horrors of war.

For Imad Ahmed, a Palestinian refugee living in southern Lebanon, this is the third time he has had to flee a war with Israel, this time with his children in tow. The influx of internally displaced persons has overwhelmed facilities like the one where Khaled and Imad are seeking shelter, leaving authorities concerned about a looming humanitarian crisis.

As the violence continues to escalate, the people of Lebanon are left living in fear, unsure of what the future holds. The international community must come together to support those affected by this crisis and work towards a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
