Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and New York City Mayor Eric Adams are engaged in a heated exchange over the handling of illegal immigration, with accusations flying from both sides. Abbott, fresh off a visit to the Big Apple, responded to Adams’ criticism by accusing the mayor of failing to protect his community and instead using migrants as political pawns.

Adams, in turn, invited Abbott to stay at a migrant shelter in the city to witness firsthand how New York is managing the immigration crisis. The mayor emphasized the need for coordination and criticized Abbott for bussing migrants from Texas to New York, calling the move irresponsible.

The back-and-forth between the two officials escalated, with Abbott blaming President Biden for the influx of illegal immigrants and accusing Adams of aiding and abetting Biden’s border policies with New York City’s sanctuary status. Adams, on the other hand, accused Abbott of being “morally bankrupt” and using migrants for political gain.

The dispute highlights the ongoing challenges and tensions surrounding immigration policy in the United States. As the debate rages on, both Abbott and Adams continue to stand firm in their positions, with no immediate resolution in sight.
