Wedding accessories are often the unsung heroes of a bride’s look, adding a touch of personality, sentimentality, or even a risqué quality. Cynthia Smith, a wedding stylist and owner of Cynthia Cook Brides in San Francisco Bay, believes that accessories provide a unique opportunity for brides to break away from traditional norms and make a statement on their big day.

According to Smith, accessories have the power to completely transform a look, taking it from ceremony-appropriate to cocktail-ready in an instant. “Adding an unexpected, potent element can modernize a traditional look and make it more fashion-forward,” she explains. “It’s empowering and attention-grabbing, giving designers a chance to showcase their creativity and bring a look to life.”

At this year’s New York Bridal Fashion Week, four standout accessories caught the eye of attendees. From bold rings to intricate armlets, these pieces are redefining bridal fashion and offering brides a chance to express their unique style on their special day.

One standout accessory is the “Til Death” ring designed by Jillian Sassone of Marrow Fine. Inspired by Victorian-era remembrance rings, Sassone modernized the concept by adding a touch of edge and gender fluidity. The 14k gold enamel ring, priced at $1,450, is a bold statement piece that is sure to turn heads.

Another must-have accessory is the hand-beaded gloves by Sohil Mistry of Enaura. These gloves, priced between $200 to $500, offer brides a chance to add a personal touch to their look while embracing classic elements of bridal fashion. Crafted by artisans in India, each glove can take up to 15 hours to complete, making them a true labor of love.

For brides looking to make a statement, the 3-D armlet by Lihi Zwillinger of Mira Zwillinger is a show-stopping choice. Priced at $6,820, these hand-embroidered silk-thread flowers are a true work of art, taking over 50 hours to create. The armlets, connected by flowers in the back, change shape as the bride moves, bringing the floral design to life.

Lastly, the bold statement belts by Mariela Torres Soucy of Soucy offer brides a modern and edgy look. Priced at $1,280, these 2.5-inch wide belts are made from Italian silk satin, silk Lamé, or leather, with adjustable buckle closures in different colored hardware. These belts give brides the opportunity to showcase their own identity and add a touch of modernity to their classic bridal look.

With these standout accessories leading the way, brides have more options than ever to personalize their wedding day look and make a statement that is uniquely their own.
