Former congressional candidate and retired WWE wrestler Dan Rodimer surrendered to Las Vegas police on Wednesday evening after an arrest warrant for open murder was issued for him earlier in the day. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified Rodimer as the suspect in an altercation that turned deadly inside a Las Vegas resort room in October.
The incident occurred on October 29 when medical personnel responded to a call for help inside a resort room on South Las Vegas Boulevard. The man inside the room, identified as Christopher Tapp, was taken to the hospital with injuries from a purported accident. Tapp later died at Sunrise Hospital on November 5, and his death was ruled a homicide by the Clark County Coroner’s Office due to blunt force trauma to the head.
Rodimer’s lawyers, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld, stated that Rodimer voluntarily surrendered and intends to vigorously contest the allegations. He posted a $200,000 bail and has a hearing scheduled for Thursday morning.
Rodimer, a Republican, previously ran for Congress in Nevada in 2020 and in a special election in Texas in 2021. He also competed as a professional wrestler in the WWE from 2004 to 2007.
The case has garnered attention due to Rodimer’s background in politics and wrestling, and the tragic nature of the incident. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
