Disney fans around the world are in for a treat as a brand-new Lion King attraction is set to debut at Disney’s resort in Paris. The entertainment giant made the exciting announcement, revealing that visitors will embark on a journey through the African savanna alongside iconic characters like Mufasa, Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa.
The mock-ups of the experience, presented at the D23 convention, showcased a log flume ride plummeting down Pride Rock as Rafiki the monkey looks on. This new addition comes as part of Disney’s plan to invest $60 billion in expanding its theme park and cruise businesses over the next decade.
The Lion King-themed land will follow the World of Frozen area, which is scheduled to launch in 2026 in Paris. The new areas will be located in the Walt Disney Studios Park, which will be renamed Disney Adventure World to reflect its new offerings.
In addition to the Lion King attraction, Disney also announced a new evening show in Paris that will feature “water drones” as part of the entertainment. The company is also planning major expansions at its other parks around the world, including new lands devoted to classic Disney villains, Pixar’s Cars movies, Monsters Inc, Encanto, Indiana Jones, and more.
With a focus on creating immersive experiences for fans, Disney is set to bring the magic of its beloved franchises to life in new and exciting ways. The recent announcements come after a period of restructuring and challenges for the company, but Disney remains committed to delighting consumers and creating long-term value for shareholders.
As Disney continues to innovate and expand its offerings, fans can look forward to a host of new attractions and experiences that will bring their favorite stories and characters to life in magical ways.
