The father of Oxford High School shooter Ethan Crumbley, James Crumbley, has made shocking statements in jail calls obtained by Fox News Digital. Despite being sentenced to serve between 10 and 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter in connection to the school shooting carried out by his son, James refers to himself as a “martyr” and claims to feel like he “joined the military.”

In the jail calls, James expresses his belief that he and his wife, Jennifer Crumbley, are fighting a battle to prevent similar tragedies from happening in the future. He even goes as far as to insult Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald, who initially brought charges against the Crumbleys, calling her derogatory names and threatening her career.

Despite the intense language used in the calls, James’ defense attorney argued that he did not physically threaten the prosecutor, attributing his outbursts to frustration and anger over his incarceration.

During his sentencing hearing, James addressed the court for the first time, expressing sorrow for the families of the victims and claiming that the full truth about the shooting had not been revealed.

The tragic events at Oxford High School in 2021, where Ethan Crumbley fatally shot four students and injured several others, have raised questions about parental responsibility and gun safety. Prosecutors revealed that the firearm used in the shooting was purchased by James for his son and was not properly secured in their home.

The Crumbleys’ actions, including leaving Ethan at school after disturbing notes were found and fleeing the scene after the shooting, have led to civil lawsuits and further scrutiny of their role in the tragedy.

The case continues to unfold, with the Crumbleys facing the consequences of their actions while the community grapples with the aftermath of the devastating school shooting.
