Former professional cyclist Meier has transitioned from the world of competitive cycling to the world of trail running and entrepreneurship, with a passion for coffee brewing in between. Meier, who owns and runs two coffee shops in Girona with his wife, made the switch to coffee and business after feeling stagnant in his cycling career.
Despite having a year left on his professional cycling contract, Meier decided to pursue his new interests in coffee and entrepreneurship. He found the challenge and growth potential in the coffee industry to be more appealing than continuing in cycling. Meier’s mindset of being naive and curious has led him to success in his new ventures.
However, Meier faced challenges when he first started trail running, particularly with injuries and adapting to the different demands on his body. Despite these setbacks, he leaned into learning and self-coaching to improve his performance. Meier’s dedication to absorbing information and pushing himself to new limits has paid off, with a highlight being his victory in the TDS race.
Meier’s story is one of resilience, curiosity, and a willingness to embrace new challenges. From cycling to coffee to trail running, Meier’s journey exemplifies the power of pursuing one’s passions and constantly seeking growth and learning opportunities.
