Israeli Military Continues Bombardment of Gaza Strip Despite UN Cease-Fire Resolution

The Israeli military has shown no signs of slowing down its assault on the Gaza Strip, even after a United Nations resolution calling for a cease-fire during the holy month of Ramadan was passed. The military reported that it had struck over 60 targets in Gaza, including residential homes and buildings, resulting in dozens of casualties.

In a statement, the Israeli military stated that its forces were actively operating in central Gaza, targeting and eliminating terrorists. They also mentioned ongoing operations around Al-Amal Hospital and the town of Al-Qarara, where they claimed to be carrying out targeted raids on terrorist infrastructure.

Al-Amal Hospital, which was forced to close after Israeli forces besieged it, has been a target of the Israeli military’s assault. Witnesses have reported intense airstrikes and gunfire in the area, with several patients losing their lives as a result of the ongoing attacks.

Despite the passing of the UN resolution, which was meant to bring about a temporary halt to the violence, residents of Gaza remain skeptical that the Israeli bombardment will cease anytime soon. One resident, Ezzeldine al-Dali, expressed his despair, stating that previous international efforts to stop the violence had been unsuccessful.

Reports from the Palestinian news agency, Wafa, indicated that the Israeli military had also targeted other areas in Gaza, including residential homes and buildings in the northwest of Gaza City, Beit Lahia, and Rafah. The agency reported casualties, including deaths and injuries, but these claims have not been independently verified.

The Israeli military has not responded to requests for comments on the recent reports of civilian casualties in Gaza. The ongoing violence in the region continues to escalate, despite international calls for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
