After defeating No. 1 Iowa and Caitlin Clark to secure the title and complete an undefeated season, the party started back on campus for Cardoso and her teammates.

Fans lined up to greet the lady Gamecocks upon their return to South Carolina, where celebrations were in full swing. Cardoso and teammate MiLaysia Fulwiley even took time to serve customers at a local Raising Cane’s, enjoying the experience and giving back to the community.

Despite a slow start in the championship game against Iowa, South Carolina rallied to outscore their opponents and secure the victory. Cardoso emphasized the team’s poise and ability to come back from adversity as key factors in their success.

Now, Cardoso is preparing for the next chapter in her basketball career as she awaits the WNBA draft on Monday night. With mock drafts predicting her landing with teams like the Los Angeles Sparks or the Chicago Sky, Cardoso is focused on managing her time between celebrations and meetings with WNBA coaches and staff.

The Brazilian native had an impressive season, averaging 14.4 points and 9.0 rebounds, and delivering standout performances in the championship game. As she looks ahead to the draft and her future in the WNBA, Cardoso is excited for what lies ahead.
