BBC presenter Laura Kuenssberg’s scheduled interview with Boris Johnson has been cancelled after she accidentally sent the former prime minister her briefing notes. The interview, titled “Boris Johnson: The Laura Kuenssberg Interview,” was set to air on BBC One on Thursday evening.

Kuenssberg admitted her mistake, stating that it was “embarrassing and disappointing,” but emphasized that honesty is the best policy. The BBC and Johnson’s team mutually agreed to cancel the interview following the incident.

Johnson, who is currently promoting his new memoir, has been conducting media interviews as part of the book’s promotion. Kuenssberg’s regular Sunday morning politics program will proceed as scheduled.

The BBC confirmed that the interview with Johnson will not take place as planned and apologized for the error. The network has rescheduled its programming, moving EastEnders back to its usual time slot to replace the cancelled interview.

The incident serves as a reminder of the meticulous preparation that goes into high-profile interviews and the importance of maintaining confidentiality in such situations. Despite the setback, both Kuenssberg and Johnson are expected to continue their respective media engagements in the coming days.
