The Pasteur Institute in Paris, known for groundbreaking scientific discoveries, has recently made waves in the musical world as well. Scientists at the institute have formed bands and musical acts, showcasing their talents at events held on-site.

One such event took place in March at the institute’s cafeteria, where three acts developed in the music lab headlined the evening. Moody purple lighting set the scene as bands like Polaris and Billie and the What?! rocked out, along with an a cappella group called Les Papillons.

Germano Cecere, a lab director at the Pasteur Institute, showcased his drumming skills with Billie and the What?! His journey from playing drums in a small village near Naples to conducting research on epigenetic inheritance is a testament to his diverse talents.

The music lab at the Pasteur Institute has become a hub for employees and students to come together and jam. From guitar lessons to choir rehearsals, the lab fosters a sense of community among the institute’s staff.

As the night unfolded with covers of popular songs and a dance circle led by Les Papillons, it was clear that music was a powerful outlet for these scientists. For Billie, whose disappointment with science is soothed by music, the balance between the two worlds is a harmonious one.

The Pasteur Institute continues to push boundaries not only in the realm of science but also in the world of music, proving that creativity knows no bounds within its walls.
