The United Nations has issued a dire warning that more Gazan children will die without immediate aid. The recent aid delivery into Gaza turned into a disaster, with over 100 Palestinians killed as thousands gathered around trucks of food and supplies. The Israeli military claimed that many victims were trampled, while the Gazan health ministry labeled it a “massacre” by Israeli forces.
The U.N. has emphasized that deaths of children and infants in Gaza are likely to “rapidly increase” if food and medical supplies are not sent urgently. Many Gazans are on the brink of famine, and some aid agencies have halted distribution in northern Gaza due to safety concerns.
Despite the tragic events, two more aid convoys organized by the Israeli government and Palestinian businessmen entered Gaza over the weekend. However, one convoy was mostly emptied by desperate Gazans before reaching Gaza City. The U.S. also initiated airdrops of aid, although some experts believe it is insufficient.
The situation in Gaza remains critical, and the international community is urged to act swiftly to prevent further loss of innocent lives, especially among vulnerable children and infants.
