Designers brought a bit of theater to New York Bridal Fashion Week, held April 2-4, showcasing their spring and summer 2025 collections in a unique and interactive way.

Justin Alexander kicked off the event with an interactive collaboration with street artist Gioele Corradengo, known as Sexsdreams. Attendees at the show had the opportunity to spray-paint a wedding dress, creating their own work of art. Cinq also made a statement with a candlelit dinner-style presentation that was part Shakespearean drama, part Hitchcock film.

One of the most memorable moments of the week was a surprise marriage proposal by model Erica Honing’s boyfriend during Galia Lahav’s presentation.

The event also saw the debut of bridal brands from designers Alejandra Alonso Rojas, Courte Collection, and Nordeen, as well as the return of Odylyne the Ceremony to Bridal Fashion Week after a brief absence. Additionally, Claire Pettibone unveiled her highly anticipated East Coast flagship boutique in Midtown Manhattan.

On the runways, designers showcased nontraditional and versatile looks, with a focus on dropped waists, mixed fabrics, basque waists, trompe l’oeil bra necklines, elongated corsets, and ruched tulle.

The dropped waist trend was a standout, with designers like Chosen by KYHA, Courte Collection, Anne Barge, Monique Lhuillier Bliss, and Ines Di Santo incorporating this style into their collections.

Mixed fabrics were also a prominent trend, with designers like Amsale, Nadia Manjarrez, and Andrew Kwon showcasing custom and one-of-a-kind pieces that allow brides to showcase their individual style.

Basque waists, inspired by 18th and 19th-century fashion, were seen in collections from designers like Balykina, Cinq, and Lihi Hod, creating a regal and fashion-forward look.

Trompe l’oeil bra necklines, a trend inspired by late-1990s and early 2000s fashion, made a chic appearance in bridal collections from designers like Wonà Concept, Nardos, and Eva Lendel.

Elongated corsets paired with full skirts and tailored trousers created an elegant two-piece bridal look, as seen in collections from Dana Harel, Mark Ingram, and Galia Lahav.

Ruched tulle was a popular choice for ethereal and romantic gowns, with designers like Markarian, Hera Couture, and Nordeen incorporating this dreamy fabric into their collections.

Overall, New York Bridal Fashion Week was a showcase of creativity, innovation, and romance, with designers pushing the boundaries of traditional bridal wear to create unforgettable and unique looks for the modern bride.
