Caitlin Cronenberg, daughter of renowned horror filmmaker David Cronenberg, has made her feature debut with the film “Humane,” a gripping and fast-paced thriller that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

The story unfolds in a society on the brink of collapse, where conspiracy theories and media manipulation run rampant. The focus then shifts to a wealthy family, led by former war correspondent Charles (Peter Gallagher) and his celebrity chef wife Dawn (Uni Park), as they gather for a dinner party that takes a dark and unexpected turn.

While the film starts off strong, with a sense of urgency and tension that grips the audience, some critics have noted that the story becomes increasingly convoluted as it progresses. The characters, while intriguing, lack depth and development, making it difficult for viewers to fully invest in their fates.

Despite these criticisms, Sebastian Chacon delivers a standout performance as the troubled piano prodigy Noah, adding a layer of complexity to the film. Overall, “Humane” offers a thought-provoking exploration of a society on the brink of collapse, with twists and turns that will keep viewers guessing until the very end.
