Ryan Gosling Steals the Show at Oscars with “I’m Just Ken” Performance
In a night filled with glitz and glamour, one moment stood out as the most exuberant and anticipated of the evening – Ryan Gosling’s performance of “I’m Just Ken” from the movie “Barbie” at the Oscars.
Dressed in a sparkling pink suit and a cowboy hat, Gosling took the stage to serenade his “Barbie” co-star Margot Robbie, who couldn’t contain her giggles. Surrounded by an army of besuited Ken dancers, including Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, and Scott Evans, Gosling put on a show-stopping performance. Mark Ronson joined him on stage, but it was Slash of Guns N’ Roses who stole the show with his shredding guitar skills.
The performance was not just a solo act, as Gosling led a singalong with Robbie, director Greta Gerwig, “Barbie” actress America Ferrera, and Emma Stone. Despite not being in “Barbie,” Stone joined in the fun, showcasing the camaraderie and spirit of the evening.
On the red carpet, Ronson had promised a spectacle, and he certainly delivered with cutouts of Barbie heads and a “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” aesthetic that added to the overall excitement of the night.
For Gosling, who started his career on “The All New Mickey Mouse Club” and later pursued acting in “serious film,” the performance was a return to his roots in music and dance. Despite his early struggles to break free from his child performer image, Gosling has always maintained his passion for music, even forming a band and releasing an indie rock record in 2009.
With his performance at the Oscars, Gosling proved that he is a true entertainer at heart, willing to commit fully to the role of Ken in “Barbie” and deliver a show-stopping performance that will be remembered for years to come.
