The Xfinity Series’ Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday afternoon provided fans with an exhilarating finish as Sam Mayer and Ryan Sieg battled it out on the final lap.

Mayer, driving the #1 JR Motorsports Carolina Carports Chevrolet, made a daring last-lap pass of Sieg to secure the victory by a mere 0.002 seconds. The two drivers raced side by side towards the start-finish line, with Mayer ultimately crossing it first to claim the win.

In a post-race interview, Mayer expressed his disbelief at the outcome, stating, “That’s unreal. I mean, I was like a second and a half back, probably, at one point. So to make up that much time in that little amount of time is certainly unreal.”

Sieg, who had surged from 10th to first place in just four laps before the final caution flag, was leading heading into the last lap but was overtaken by Mayer in the closing moments of the race. Despite his disappointment, Sieg acknowledged the close competition, saying, “It was just that close. I saw him coming. I was doing all I could do.”

The top 10 finishers of the race included Justin Allageir in third place, followed by A.J. Allmendinger, Cole Custer, Austin Hill, Ryan Truex, Sammy Smith, Jesse Love, and Anthony Alfredo.

With this victory, Mayer moved up to 14th in the standings, while Sieg climbed to 11th place.

The thrilling race at Texas Motor Speedway showcased the intense competition and skill of the drivers in the Xfinity Series, leaving fans on the edge of their seats until the very end.
