Sean “Diddy” Combs, the music icon and self-made entrepreneur, was arrested in New York on Monday, as confirmed by Fox News Digital. The charges against Diddy remain unclear, but his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment in what he believes is an unjust prosecution.
In a statement provided to Fox News Digital, Agnifilo defended Diddy, highlighting his contributions to the music industry, his philanthropic efforts, and his dedication to his family. He emphasized that Diddy has been cooperative with the investigation and voluntarily relocated to New York in anticipation of the charges.
United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, confirmed the arrest and mentioned a sealed indictment that will be unsealed in the morning. The US Attorney’s office shared that federal agents arrested Diddy based on the sealed indictment filed by the SDNY.
This arrest comes after Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided in connection to a federal human trafficking investigation in March. Homeland Security Investigations executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and local law enforcement partners.
Diddy, 51, is also facing potential litigation in civil suits and a criminal lawsuit. In November, his ex-girlfriend Cassie accused him of rape, but the lawsuit was settled amicably the following day. Other women have come forward with allegations of sexual assault against Diddy, including claims from model Crystal McKinney and former Arista records intern April Lampros.
Diddy’s legal team has denied these accusations, calling them lies and attempts to tarnish his reputation. Despite the legal challenges he faces, Diddy remains committed to clearing his name and continuing his work in the music industry.
As the case unfolds, the public awaits more information on the charges Diddy is facing and how he plans to address the allegations against him. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
