National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) to Hold Special Trading Session Today to Test Disaster Recovery Systems
In a unique move, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will be conducting a special live trading session today, Saturday, March 2. The purpose of this session is to assess the resilience of their disaster recovery systems as part of their Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Site (DRS) management system.
During this special trading session, the Primary Site (PR) will be switched over to the Disaster Recovery (DR) site. This switch over is crucial in testing the preparedness of the infrastructure to handle any unforeseen event that may impact operations and to ensure that operations can be restored from the DR site within no time.
Prashanth Tapse, Research Analyst and Senior Vice President of Research at Mehta Equities, emphasized the importance of such sessions in ensuring that the infrastructure remains strong enough to support any kind of situation. He stated that these sessions will help the exchange be ready to drive business with zero downtime in the event of a disaster.
The special trading session will be divided into two phases, with a 45-minute session scheduled from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM IST, followed by another live trading session from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM IST. The maximum price band for all securities, including those on which derivative products are offered, will be 5% during this session.
