Stock indices finished today’s trading session with mixed results, as the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 fell while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained. The industrial sector was the laggard of the day, while the materials sector led the session. The U.S. 10-Year Treasury yield is hovering around 4.1%, with the Two-Year Treasury yield at 4.54%, resulting in a negative spread between them.

Looking ahead, U.S. futures are down as investors await crucial inflation reports scheduled for release this week. Last week saw the Dow experience its worst weekly performance since October 2023, with sell-offs in major technology firms contributing to the downside. The job data report released last week supported the Federal Reserve’s decision to maintain the current interest rate policy.

This week’s economic reports include the release of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for February and the Producer Price Index (PPI) report. The U.S. 10-year treasury yield is down, while WTI crude oil futures are trending higher. European markets opened lower today, while Asia-Pacific indices ended on a mixed note, with Chinese stocks closing higher and Japanese markets ending in negative territory.
