Title: Tony Khan makes surprise appearance on AEW Dynamite before heading to NFL Draft war room
Before Tony Khan joined the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Draft war room on Thursday night, he made a surprise appearance on All Elite Wrestling’s “Dynamite.” Khan, who is the chief football strategy officer for the Jaguars and the son of billionaire team owner Shad Khan, stepped into the ring to welcome Jack Perry back to the promotion officially.
Perry, the son of the late actor Luke Perry, had been absent from AEW following a backstage incident with former colleague CM Punk. However, Perry returned to the company to assist Matthew and Nicholas Jackson in the AEW Tag-Team Championship.
In a rare in-ring moment for Khan, Perry asked him to shake hands and reinstate him, symbolizing their partnership to “change the world together.” The two shared a hug, and Perry raised Khan’s hand to the crowd at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville.
However, the moment took a surprising turn when Perry struck Khan in the stomach, causing Khan to fall. The Elite members, including the Jacksons and Kazuchika Okada, then entered the ring to address Perry’s actions. The Jacksons turned on Khan and delivered a piledriver to him, resulting in a chorus of boos from the crowd.
Despite the unexpected turn of events in AEW, Khan now has to shift his focus to the NFL Draft as the Jaguars hold the No. 17 overall pick in the first round. With additional picks in later rounds, Khan will have a busy night ahead as he navigates both the wrestling ring and the football field.
