Former President Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, have been making waves with their extensive media appearances, sitting down for at least 55 interviews since the formation of the Harris-Walz ticket. In comparison, the Democratic presidential ticket has only participated in 14 non-scripted interviews so far.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who had been avoiding interviews for weeks, has recently stepped up her media presence. She recently sat down for a digital video interview with Wired, as well as speaking with a Spanish radio host and the National Association of Black Journalists. Harris also made an appearance on Action News 6 ABC in Philadelphia, following reports that her campaign is looking for her to do more local interviews in swing states like Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, Trump has been busy with his own media engagements, including an interview with supporter Elon Musk and Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen. He also made an appearance on the late-night show “Gutfeld!” on Fox News.
Vance has also been actively participating in interviews, with appearances on CNN, Fox News, and ABC, among others. Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, has been doing more local interviews as well, speaking with stations in Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
Despite the increased media presence from both tickets, Harris still has not held a formal press conference since becoming the Democratic nominee. In contrast, Trump has taken questions at multiple news conferences in recent weeks.
The competition for media attention between the two tickets continues to heat up as the election draws closer. Stay tuned for more updates on the candidates’ media appearances.
