Additionally, on August 9, the same wallet address received over $8 million in ETH from the programmer, sparking questions about his intentions.

Responding to the allegations on August 31, Buterin acknowledged selling some ETH but emphasized that the proceeds were directed towards supporting Web3 projects and charitable endeavors, not for personal enrichment. His explanation garnered support from members of the cryptocurrency community, with one user expressing solidarity by stating, “You deserve the yacht, too.”

Despite the initial backlash, Buterin’s response has reinforced his reputation as a leader dedicated to the growth of the crypto ecosystem and philanthropic initiatives. Furthermore, he recently donated over $532,000 worth of animal-themed memecoins received from various projects, showcasing his commitment to giving back to the community.
