The Eurovision Song Contest is back, and this year it’s heading to Sweden! After a successful event in Liverpool last year, the annual song contest is set to take place in Malmo, Sweden.

The competition, organized by The European Broadcasting Union (EBU), features original songs that are no more than three minutes long. Lead vocals must be performed live, and only six singers and dancers can take to the stage during the performance.

While most Eurovision countries are European, Australia has been participating since 2015 as part of the 60th-anniversary celebrations. Other non-European countries like Israel are also allowed to participate as members of the EBU.

This year, the UK will be represented by Olly Alexander, known for hits like Desire and King. His Eurovision entry, Dizzy, was co-written with Danny L Harle.

However, the competition is not without controversy. Israel’s entry has sparked debate due to its references to recent events in the country. Despite calls for Israel’s exclusion, Eurovision organizers have maintained their stance on the matter.

The grand final of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Malmo Arena on Saturday, May 11th. The semi-finals will take place on May 7th and May 9th.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Eurovision Song Contest and get ready to enjoy the music and excitement of this iconic event!
