Local Songwriter Finds Success with Unique Genre
Casey, a local songwriter, has found unexpected success with his unique genre of songs that combine names and bodily functions. His most popular song brings in about $1,200 per month, enough to cover his rent. When asked about his success, Casey nonchalantly shrugged, saying, “I have other songs that I want to put up, but I kind of don’t want to sell out.”
Interestingly, Casey was unaware of another artist known as the Odd Man Who Sings About Poop, Puke, and Pee, who has customized hundreds of songs with different names and bodily functions. Upon learning that both bands were actually the same person, Casey admitted, “I like mine better, but I’m biased. You can tell he knows how to write songs, but I think he’s just been going for volume.”
During a visit to Casey’s studio, it was revealed that he has already completed about 3,000 songs in his unique genre. Despite the repetitive nature of the songs, Casey continues to create new ones, citing the process as “kind of painful.”
