Sisters Turn Childhood Memories into Stunning Wallpaper Collection

Hopie Stockman Hill and Grier Stockman, the creative minds behind Block Shop, have launched a new wallpaper collection inspired by their idyllic childhood in a rural pocket of New Jersey. Growing up in an old farmhouse surrounded by wheat fields, apple orchards, and forests, the sisters spent their days merging art with nature, building birdhouses and painting murals.

The latest collection from Block Shop combines a breezy California aesthetic with Indian printing and weaving techniques. The seven new patterns, printed on paper, fiber, and grass cloth, include a peony motif inspired by their mother’s garden and a nod to Austrian designer Dagobert Peche.

Stockman Hill, the CEO and creative director of the studio, describes the collection as “the wallpapers you find in a grande dame’s home,” envisioning a sophisticated woman surrounded by art books and listening to opera while tending to her garden.

The Block Shop store in Los Angeles’s Atwater Village neighborhood offers a harmonious blend of color and texture, with unique decor items like a bronze snail door handle, Apuglian splatterware dishes, and the brand’s signature textiles.

From the charming wallpaper patterns to the curated selection of home goods, Block Shop’s latest collection is a testament to the sisters’ childhood spent immersed in art and nature. Visit blockshoptextiles.com to explore the collection and bring a touch of their magical world into your own home.
