Tether Launches USDT and XAUT Stablecoins on Telegram’s TON Network

In a groundbreaking move, Tether has introduced its USDT and gold-backed XAUT stablecoins on The Open Network (TON), further solidifying its presence in the crypto space. This collaboration marks a significant milestone as TON becomes the 15th blockchain to support Tether’s tokens.

The announcement was made by Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino, Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov, and TON CEO Andrew Rogozov at the Token2049 crypto event in Dubai. The partnership aims to revolutionize peer-to-peer payments, allowing Telegram users to send money instantly via direct messages, enhancing financial liquidity and user experience.

Ardoino expressed his excitement about the launch, stating that it will enable seamless value transfer, increase activity and liquidity, and provide users with a financial experience comparable to traditional financial systems. Additionally, Tether announced a restructuring of the company, introducing four new business divisions to enhance service offerings and operational efficiency.
